9 Months
I know, you've missed seeing him on my blog! Trey will be 9 months old in a couple of days. I can't believe how time is going by so quickly! We've been though a lot in the 9 months Trey has been with us. Thankfully, he's finally starting to feel better after he had tubes put in his ears for the constant ear infections he was getting. He definitely is eating well as you can tell from his rolls. I love every inch of him though!

Father's Day!
My in-law's just love pictures of their grand kids. They have 6 of them, the oldest turning 5 next month and the youngest being almost 9 months. It is super hard to take pictures of them all and to get them all looking at the camera with some sort of smile on their face but we did it. Not only are they all looking at the camera, they each in their own way have a cute smile on their face. I thought I would share my capture with you all. My kids are on the left and my sister-in-laws kids are on the right. I think it turned out pretty cute!

Little One
Exactly one week after taking her maternity pictures, this handsome baby was born. He's not only handsome, but he was an excellent model to work with! Super sleepy and cooperative - just how I like them!

I took pictures for this super cute family today. What a fun family they were! It was a fun morning but it was HOT outside! Despite being the sweaty photographer, we got some beautiful photographs.

Making A Difference
Today in church there was a message that was given that really spoke to me and I believe that we all have the capability to make a difference. The speaker was from Stop the Traffik, an organization trying to free people that are taken from their loved ones. It touched on equal trade between countries and how there is a lot of human trafficking going on around the world including the USA. Humans, mostly children, are being stolen from their communities and are forced into labor, used for sex, or for ill intent behaviors.
I found this to be particularly interesting and I felt that this is where I could actually make a difference. More that 1/2 of the world's chocolate is produced from the coco beans that are found in Cote D'lvoiro, Africa. It is estimated that around 12,000 kids have been trafficked into the coco farms found in this area. Boy do I love chocolate but not enough that I will support that kind of behavior. Here is how we can help; when shopping, look for products that say "fairly traded" or "traffic free" on the product. You can read more about the chocolate industry here. If you visit this link it will lead you to more information on where you can purchase "fairly traded" or "traffic free" products.
We can make a difference to support ending the trafficking industry. If we stop purchasing the products that come from a place doing this kind of bad behavior, we can shut their business down and let governments know we will not support this type of practice. We the consumers have that power to think wisely about what we buy. Something to think about next time you go to grab that candy bar.
